How the countdown works
The calculator counts the calendar days from today (or any "counting from" date) to your target. It also shows the gap in weeks and as a calendar difference (years, months and days), and the day of the week the date lands on — useful for planning around a weekend.
Dates in the past
If the target date has already passed, the count goes negative and the summary switches to "X days ago". So the same tool works as a countup — how long since a wedding, a launch or a start date — not just a countdown.
Planning around the day
Knowing the weekday matters as much as the date: a deadline on a Saturday may effectively move to the next working day, and an event on a Friday reads very differently from one on a Monday. The result surfaces it so you are not caught out.
