How the plan is built
The calculator spreads your total hours across the study days you actually have: hours per day = total hours ÷ study days. Forty hours over 14 days with 2 rest days is 40 ÷ 12 ≈ 3.3 hours a day — which it then splits into 50-minute sessions (about 4 a day), since focus fades over longer stretches.
Study in sessions, not marathons
Research on attention favors shorter, focused blocks with breaks — roughly 45–60 minutes of work followed by a short rest — over multi-hour grinds. Spacing the same total hours across more days (spaced repetition) also beats cramming them into a few, because memory consolidates between sessions.
Be honest about the total
The plan is only as good as your estimate of total hours needed. Gauge it from the amount of material and how well you know it — a rule of thumb is 2–3 study hours per hour of lecture for a tough subject. If the daily target looks impossible, start earlier or trim the scope rather than plan for heroics.
